CMN is the brand
name of PFCB - The Philippine Federation of Catholic Broadcasters,
a radio network owned and operated by different pioneering
Catholic broadcast media corporations, tirelessly fulfilling the
obligation of the Church to continue the mission of Christ,. proclaiming
the Good News to all, using the most powerful means to reach more
people through the airwaves, through RADIO!
We began with radio satellite,
which is a real powerful thing, snatches of actual broadcast OLD
RADIO.
Dedicated and determined to address the needs of its listeners,
the PFCB then pursued an even more arduous task in network broadcasting
It became a pioneer in Community Based Approach, bringing life
to the countryside, with its Broadcasting philosophy rooted in
the heart of the community responding to the Basic Christian community
Strategy of the Catholic Church
In 1997, embracing its new and
dynamic image. The CMN-Catholic Media Network was brought to life.

When we started our radio station,
we came together not for profit but service of the Catholic Church
to the Poor. Now, after more than FOUR decades CMN is 51 stations
strong and is still growing, reaching and helping improve
the lives of every Filipino in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
We entertain, we teach, we help
the nation building, with commendable workforce combined, bravely
broadcasting where there stations are not present CMN reaches
the whole archipelago. The core of CMN is now a totality of independent
stations that work autonomously yet are interdependent and intertwined
with one another.
Unity in diversity, each
station develops their own set of programs to address the communities
they serve, in alliance with Church groups, concerned government,
and non-government agencies. NATIONAL SIMULCAST PROGRAMS
are transmitted to the countryside VIA SATELLITE FEED. A broadcasting
network committed to Truth in News and Quality Information.
CMN is capable of producing programs in all languages and dialects
in the Philippines.
Service and Credibility CMN
is an active advocate for various NATION BUILDING causes,
because of its competitive advantage the CATHOLIC CHURCH.
As a network, CMN has been actively participating in election
coverage’s, imparting a sense of HOPE echoing the voice
of the people ensuring a free, peaceful and just election exercise.

CMN was at the
forefront of the preparation for significant Church activities
in the country. CMN continuously links and strengthens its partnerships
with various formidable organizations and institutions. More importantly,
CMN is the Church’s promotional arm not only as an institution
but as an advocate of Catholic Values, Teachings, and Traditions
through its various activities and programs.
CMN’s main
advantage over the other networks is its massive Church structure
and partners. Working hand in hand with the Church to achieve
a better life for more Filipino, alongside its mission to spread
the good news and promote development. CMN realizes that a vibrant
media is indispensable.CMN
is swiftly revolutionizing adapting to the developments in media
technology. Strengthening its convergence.
Now CMN is on
satellite broadcast. CMN’s Network Programs now is airing
on DREAM SATELLITE connection reaching more homes. Further transformation/
improvement is already happening at CMN.
A virtual radio,
CMN Radio’s programs will include religious, social, economic,
and socio-cultural content consistent with the thrusts and advocacies
of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
Enabling CMN to address the need for a comprehensive Catholic
programming that will serve both as an alternative to the conventional
commercial broadcast and at the same time providing a medium for
Catholic teachings and evangelization.
The tasks-immense
and challenges-complex. As a broadcast institution, CMN is more
than determined to carry out its ask to contribute in nation building.
As The Catholic
Media Network, we heed the call of His Holiness Pope Benedict
XVI, to make media, truly a network of communication, communion
and cooperation.Essentially,
our broadcast will be about what makes us unique and different,
not what makes us the same, that makes us strong and worthy of
our name
