Friends!
This Musical
revue portrays the hardship of trying to live by the Word
of God, in our day.
Once upon a time the deep spirituality of our people created
a strong social current that helped our children to be prayerful,
hard working, responsible, pure and capable of living in a
stable marriage until death . . . But now the tidal wave of
media is sweeping them toward immorality, pre-marital sex,
and broken marriages.
Greed, ambition
and selfishness have led to a complete mistrust of our politicians,
among both rich and poor. During the twenty year regime of
Marcos this became a way of living. When the dictatorship
ended, we got rid of Ali Baba, but we still had the Forty
Thieves.
Worst
of all, through the long years of western domination, a subtle
change came creeping over us – the conviction that money
was not only the most important thing, it was the only thing
that mattered . . . That we were here on earth to take, get,
have, keep, possess . . . that our purpose in living was to
amass wealth . . . to live in comfort and security, owning
everything that our hearts desired. And with this came the
terrible belief that money could buy everything – including
people.
But when Our Lord was born on that first Christmas Day, in
that little stable in Bethlehem, he came to teach us only
one thing: to give and not to take . . . to reach out to others
especially to the poor . . . to share all that we have. .
. to give ourselves . . . to love.
And
God Bless you all
